In our Design Entrepreneur class, we were asked to design a book featuring a famous design firm and its work. I featured Doyle Partners, a design company located in New York City, as my book subject. Their work spans all aspects of design from brand identity, package, and environmental. They have been long revered for their smart solutions and often hand-made aesthetics. Some of their most notable clients included WIRED magazine, Stephen Colbert, and New York City.
We were required to divide the book into two sections. The first featured the company's history, accolades, values, and founders’ bios. The second extensively showcased the designers’ work. I designed the structure and grid to make sure they stayed in the background to bring the content to the forefront. The exterior features a stark orange cover with exposed stitched binding and a slipcover that reveals the bright orange cover. The interior features a simple content grid, alternating black and white pages, and an image grid that ensures the content would be the book's hero.
